Samira Darya is a visual artist & teacher Artist's words: Painting is a full-time concern and a serious matter for me. The profound content of my works revolves around life and inner peace. However, I sometimes depict a protesting human being, one who is concerned about the environment and the society in which they live, witnessing their destruction and decay. At times, the elements in my paintings are linked to history. I try to place the human being of the past and the human being of today face to face, confronting them with their repetitive memories. I know I cannot perform miracles, but I believe that an artist can play a role in making the world better and more beautiful.
