Jila Kamyab (b. 1957, Kermanshah, Iran) is a renowned contemporary painter, ceramicist, and art professor celebrated for her semi-abstract landscapes and innovative ceramic works. After studying at the Faculty of Decorative Arts in 1976, she completed her undergraduate and master’s degrees at Tehran University of Art and Architecture in 1994. Kamyab’s work has earned numerous accolades, including an award at the Second Iranian Contemporary Painting Biennial in 1993. Her works have been exhibited numerous times in many countries, earning recognition internationally. Kamyab’s art is a profound reflection on the transience of life, where stones, fallen walls, abstract landscapes, and occasional human figures serve as metaphors for existence and its inevitable decline. Her compositions, characterized by soft palettes, earthy tones, and layered textures, evoke a sense of calm and introspection. Kamyab blends abstraction with elements of nature, establishing a delicate balance between the enduring presence of nature and the fleeting moments of human life. Through her paintings and ceramics, she invites the viewer to observe the transient beauty of life with contemplation, while embracing the silent and inevitable passage of time.
