Finn O'Hara _ Lot 06

Independent

Title: Aurora Tempest

About this piece: From my series Southern Lights, this photograph continues my exploration of Georgian Bay's windswept pines, rocky islands, and rugged shores, which are enduring symbols of the Canadian north and the landscapes that inspired the Group of Seven. The work draws on the surveyor's self-levelling laser, casting an unnatural glow across trees and shorelines to suggest destruction already in motion. Created entirely in-camera, with only colour correction, Aurora Tempest reflects on what is at stake as Ontario's government trades public land to foreign corporations and how we protect these wild spaces.
