Kevin Yue is a Toronto-based fine art photographer who explores ideas surrounding consumerism and fashion. His photographic works can be described as constructions of scenes with people and ordinary objects; these constructed scenes shuffle between the real and fantasized. A closer look at the subjects in his scenes reveals his exploration of the relationship between people and their properties in our contemporary society. Under the humorous and playful tone of Yue’s works, he challenges the ideals of contemporary life fueled by consumerism
Yue recently graduated from OCAD University’s BFA program, he is the recipient of OCAD University’s EPSON Award (2018). He was also selected by BlogTo as one of the twenty-five emerging artists to watch from GradEx 103 (2018).
